I don't know about you but I think the right needs to trim their liars

WELL THIS MORNING I POSTED A THREAD ON THE INFAMOUS "joe wilson" an elected offical WHO SHOWED HIS ELECTORATE JUST HOW IGNORANT HE IS! IF ALL GOES WELL HE WILL BE REPLACED IN THE NEXT ELECTION ! FOR EVEN THE MOST UMINFORMED VOTER WILL KNOW HE VOTED TO GIVE ILLEGAL ALIENS HEALTH CARE!!!

Well, frumps, in a kinder, gentler (less informed) time Rep. Joe “You Lie” Wilson might have gotten away with a sharp rebuke for bad manners but would still be able to ride his “high horse” into the sunset. BUT – as happens so often in this crazy little 21st century, especially to the GOP – there are “vigilante fact checkers” out there, who are only too happy to call you out if you turn out to be an opportunistic hypocrite.

And so it is that we learned, yesterday, that Joe Wilson, who was so righteously enflamed over the notion that illegal immigrants might benefit from the current healthcare reform bill, broke with the rules of Congressional decorum and protocol and yelled out that the President was a liar. Well, as we used to say in the old neighborhood “takes one to know one.”

On Wednesday night, Rep. Joe Wilson , shouted “You lie!” at President Obama when he said that the healthcare bill would not cover illegal immigrants. “The supporters of the government takeover of healthcare and liberals who want to give healthcare to illegals are using my opposition as an excuse to distract from the critical questions being raised about this poorly conceived plan,” Wilson said the next day in a campaign fundraising video.

However, in 2003, Wilson voted to provide federal funds for illegal immigrants’ healthcare. The vote came on the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003 (MMA), which contained Sec. 1011 authorizing $250,000 annually between 2003 and 2008 for government reimbursements to hospitals who provide treatment for uninsured illegal immigrants. The program has been extended through 2009 and there is currently a bipartisan bill in Congress to make it permanent.

It’s highly unlikely that Rep. Wilson merely forgot about the MMA or that, over time, he lost his original soft-heartedness for illegal immigrants. This particular bill had one of the most epically contentious and scandalous histories in recent legislative memory.

did you get that last paragraph? the most scandalous contentious legislation recent history! do ya think their was some lobbyists involved?

Joe, you seem to be the one who is ignorant; the fact that Wilson voted for a re-embursment to hospitals for the care of illegals has little to do with what is now in the proposed Healthcare Bill.  The MMA is funding by the government to support a U.N. bill that enforces that every person be given basic human rights.  We signed that agreement!  In order to give people the basic human rights they deserve...like medical care in an emergency...there has to be money to do it.  This is why he voted in favor.

Granted, illegals take advantage of this grant and go to emergency room for every little sniffle, but we are basically locked into accepting them.

Now, the Healthcare Bill is different.  It is addressing the proposal to give *health insurance*...quite different, and not a basic human right under our Constitution.  Because there is no specific mention as to who would get this coverage and who would not, it leaves it open to having illegals be able to have government sponsored insurance.

There was an amendment proposed to be added that would keep illegals from being eligible, but it was voted down by the liberals in Congress.  The issue has been raised again after a few Senators brought this to light and made the Congressmen look bad, so there is now a re-newed proposal to change the wording in the Bill that would require non-citizens to be eliminated under the insurance proposal.

So, what other facts can you twist to make Wilson look bad?

He has apologized for his outburst directly to the President, it was accepted, but that apparently isn't enough for the Left.  It will be used as a distraction in order to divert attention from their effort to ram this Bill forward into law.  Sorry....ain't gonna happen!

So that you contrive Wilson has a stake in how the healthcare issue goes is the mud dredged up on him aye joe ...

...how bout your beloved (I imagine that's more so than not) Pelosi, Feinstein, Marthur, Boxer ...the list is endless covering that side of the isle thus your powers of persuasion fizzle out ...

...Wilson's sin is that he fell short of biting his tongue instead of sharing with our nation's citizens what we know is so ...Obama lied and has been on the stump since continuing to spread mistruths about this issue ...he even holds meaningless addresses at these union rallies as a backdrop sellin' his spin and it's hilarious cause the unions would be exempt, won't be "REQUIRED" to participate, in any plan that only has less than a 50-50 chance of flyin' ...

...you're right in sayin' it's unlikely Wilson merely forgot about the MMA, so why would a person contrast so greatly with the allegations you make?? ...surely not something a bright personality like yourself would do, right??

Gosh.  I had already considered the idea that maybe Joe Wilson had obtained his "lunch" at a local pub before heading off to sit for the President's address to a joint session of Congress.  Now, I'm thinking that idea just might be correct.
